Regulations and Rates Change

VA compensation rates, presumptive condition lists, appeal timelines, and form versions change — sometimes with little advance notice, particularly around annual cost-of-living adjustments and new legislation like the PACT Act. We do our best to keep content current, but always verify time-sensitive details (current dollar amounts, current presumptive conditions, current form versions) directly with VA.gov or an accredited representative before relying on them for a real decision.

Calculators Are Estimates, Not Determinations

The disability rating, compensation, back pay, GI Bill housing, and VA loan calculators on this site are planning tools built on simplified public formulas. They do not represent an official VA rating decision, an official compensation determination, or a loan pre-approval. Only the VA can determine your actual disability rating and compensation, and only a licensed lender can approve an actual loan.

No Attorney-Client or Representative Relationship

Reading this site, using its calculators, or submitting the contact form does not create an attorney-client relationship, an accredited-representative relationship, or any obligation on our part to act on your behalf with the VA. We are not your representative before the VA and cannot file, track, or advocate for a claim for you.

Get Free, Accredited Help

For actual help filing or appealing a claim, contact a VA-accredited Veterans Service Organization such as DAV, VFW, or The American Legion, or an accredited claims agent or attorney. This help is free through most VSOs. You should never pay an unaccredited person or company to file a VA claim on your behalf — federal law restricts who may charge for this kind of assistance, and unaccredited "claims consultants" are a common source of fraud targeting veterans.

No Guarantee of Outcomes

Nothing on this site guarantees a particular VA rating, a particular compensation amount, approval of an appeal, or approval of a loan. Every claim and every loan application is decided on its own individual facts and evidence.
