Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

These terms govern your use of VA Benefits Help Guide. By visiting or using this site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use after a change means you accept the revised version.

What This Site Is

VA Benefits Help Guide is an independent, privately operated educational resource. We publish plain-English explanations of VA disability claims, appeals, home loans, and education benefits, along with self-service calculators. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and nothing on this site is an official government communication.

Not Legal, Medical, or Financial Advice

Content on this site — including blog posts, guides, and calculator results — is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not legal advice, not medical advice, and not financial or lending advice, and using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship, a fiduciary relationship, or any form of representation. For help with an actual claim, contact an accredited Veterans Service Organization (DAV, VFW, American Legion, or similar) or a licensed attorney. For lending decisions, consult a licensed loan officer.

Calculators and Estimates

The disability rating, compensation, back pay, GI Bill housing, and VA loan calculators on this site produce estimates based on simplified public formulas and the figures you enter. They do not account for every rule, exception, or individual circumstance (Special Monthly Compensation, lender-specific underwriting, bilateral factors beyond the basic combination formula, and similar edge cases are not modeled). Treat every result as a planning estimate, not a guarantee of your actual rating, payment, or loan terms. Always confirm figures directly with the VA or your lender before making a decision.

No Warranty

This site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that information is accurate, complete, current, or error-free. VA regulations, compensation rates, and presumptive condition lists change — sometimes without much notice — and a page may lag behind the latest update before we catch it.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VA Benefits Help Guide and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content — including a denied claim, a missed deadline, or a financial decision made using a calculator estimate. You use this site, and act on anything you read here, at your own discretion and risk.

This site links to VA.gov, third-party lenders, and other outside resources for your convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Linking to a site doesn't imply our endorsement of it.

Acceptable Use

Please don't use this site to violate any law, attempt to access non-public areas of the site, interfere with its normal operation, or scrape content at a volume that disrupts service for other visitors.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
